Melvin Veeder Hougen
passed away peacefully in the Lloydminster Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the age of 88 years
Mel is survived by his loving wife, Norma; his four children, Violet (Wayne), Judy (Carl), Tom (Bev) and Melony (Bill). He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; his sister, Freda Hermanson; his brother-in-law, Don Mair and his sister-in-law, Donna Mair.
A private family service and interment, in the Maidstone Cemetery, was held on Friday,December 22, 2017.

Norma Hougen and Families
passed away surrounded by family at Vermilion on December 14, 2017 at the age of 89 years.
Dora is survived by: her loving husband of 71 years, Vernon; her daughters, Esther (Russell) Corrigan, Verna (Glen) Johnston, Charlotte (Albert) O’Hare; her sons, Elmer (Danette) Matthews and Edwin (Bonnie) Matthews; her grandchildren, Charleen Herle, Heather Graham, Trisha McLaren, Todd Johnston, Glenda Williams, Greg O’Hare, Joni Bahm, Crystal Hawryluk, Travis Matthews, Melissa Schafer, Vanessa Matthews and Joshua Matthews; her twenty great grandchildren; her one sister, Ruth Reimer; her sisters-in-law, Rose Matthews and Ruby (Merv Goodman); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Dora was held on December 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the Kitscoty Community Church with Rev. Taylor Croissant officiating. The interment was held at the Kitscoty Cemetery.

We would like to thank the staff at the Vermilion Extended Care Facility and Dr. Stewart Hunter for the excellent and compassionate care they gave to our Mom.

Lachlan "Locky" George Cummine
passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the age of 63 years.
Locky is survived by: Theresa, his wife of 43 years; their three children, Ann-Marie (husband, Issa and daughter, Malika), Angela (husband, James, daughters, Madalynn and Isla, and son Nathan), and Philip (fiance’, Fiona and step-son, Jacob); his mother, Dolores; and his sisters, Dolores (Roy) Kuziw, Heather (John) Googins, Gerri (Doug) Madill, Marian (Lloyd) Steinkey, and their families.
The Memorial Service for Locky was held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta with Reverend Paul DuVal officiating.
The eulogy was presented by Rick Kissack and the speaker was David Dornstauder.
The hymns were “My Love Colours Outside The Lines” and “We Shall Go Out With Hope Of Resurrection”, accompanied by organist Irene Knowlson and the Grace United Church choir.
The urn bearer was Philip Cummine.
The honorary pallbearers were the Masonic Britannia Lodge #23.
Due to allergy reasons, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lachlan may be made to the Lloydminster Masonic Lodge or your Charity of Choice.
Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.

Vernon William Wittman
The Wittman Family celebrates the Life of Vernon William Wittman who passed away on January 3, 2018.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Norma (Davey), three daughters: Darlene Kennedy (Scott), Wendy Fesyk (Garvin), Kelly Duncan (Shawn), seven grandchildren: Jason Fesyk (Elissa), Tyson Kirtzinger (Jaime), Justin Fesyk (Katelin), Lindsay Kirtzinger, Amber Meadows (Owen) Brody Duncan, Kody Kennedy (Kaitlyn): nine great grandchildren: Andrew Fesyk, Taylor, Jason, and Parker Kirtzinger, Grady, Rylan, and Kelby Fesyk, and Hailey and Caleb Meadows.
Vernon was born in Marcelin, Sask. on August 8, 1929. He was the only child of Thomas and Dorothy Wittman. Vernon followed in his dad’s footsteps and worked for the CIBC for 43 years prior to retiring to his beloved Cottage at Moonlight Bay, Turtle Lake, Sask. This was Vern and Norma’s summer home since 1968 as they moved around from Ontario, Manitoba and Sask. with the bank. Vern’s passion was spending time at his cottage with family and friends, boating, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Riverside Health Complex at Turtleford, Saskatchewan.
At Vernon’s request a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
McCaw Funeral Service administrated the funeral arrangements.
September 5, 1914 to December 12, 2017
Passed away peacefully at the age of 103 years at Lynnwood Nursing Home Edmonton, Alberta, with family by her side.
Formally of Marwayne, she left to mourn her children Normie (Sheila) Rooks, Joe Rooks, Betty Lou Sully, Joan (Gerald) Calvert, Danny (Margaret) Rooks, Sandra (Keith) Weissenberger, Padi Worsfold, son in law Ron Ryland, 8 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Norman, daughter Kathleen Ryland, daughter in law Pat Rooks, son in law Edward Sully, Norman Worsfold.
Service to be held at a later date at Marwayne Cemetary.
